Samantha has interest in supporting anyone who is struggling with their health but has special focus in integrative cancer care and health optimization.
Samantha completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences from McMaster University. Throughout her undergraduate career Samantha pursued her goal of working in healthcare by engaging in research and experiential opportunities involving human physiology, psychology, human performance, athletics, and nutrition.
When it came time to decide on next steps for choosing which area of healthcare to pursue, naturopathic medicine was an easy choice. A career in naturopathic medicine would not only allow her to utilize all her skills gained at McMaster but also encompassed her values for a career in healthcare. That is to say, a career in medicine that supports not only the absence of disease but health promotion as well.
And so, she continued her education in post-graduate studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), where she completed a four-year Doctor of Naturopathy Degree. In her clinical year at CCNM Samantha gained experience at a number of clinics, Samantha earned a competitive spot at the CCNM Integrative Cancer Centre, as well as was placed at the Robert Shad Naturopathic Clinic and Sherbourne Health Centre. Samantha also pursued clinical opportunities outside of CCNM. She volunteered with Naturopaths Without Borders providing care to underserved communities in Puerto Penasco, Mexico. She also completed an externship with a Naturopathic Doctor who is well-regarded in the field of integrative oncology.
Samantha is currently in the midst of studying for the Ontario Biomedical, Clinical and Practical exams to achieve registration in the field. While studying, Samantha is taking advantage of the opportunity to continue to see patients by working alongside Dr. Vivian Kwan, ND.
