WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA?

PRP is a high concentration of platelets surrounded in its own plasma. A small amount of blood is drawn and the red cells are isolated from the platelet-rich plasma. Since the autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is processed from the patient’s own blood, there is no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.

The internal essence of your blood contains life-giving fundamental protein growth factors. PRP utilizes a leading edge, patented technology that is specifically designed. With a simple, quick and advantageous process, your PRP professional is able to derive a high concentration of biological nutrient-rich cells and create autologous platelet-rich plasma.

GROWTH FACTORS IN PRP & THE BENEFITS
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)

  • Plays a significant role in the regulation of cell growth, proliferation and differentiation during the remodeling phase. Stimulates keratinocyte and fibroblast production.

Transforming Growth Factor (TGF)

  • Promotes angiogenesis which is the physiological process involving the growth of new blood vessels.

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)

  • An important signaling protein involved in both vasculogenesis and angiogenesis that may help the growth of blood vessels from pre-existing vasculature.

Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF)

  • Promotes angiogenesis, granulation, and epithelialization for the intricate process of Tissue repairing itself after injury.

Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)

  • Attracts macrophages and fibroblasts to the zone of injury. Promotes collagen growth and proteoglycan synthesis.

Interleukins, Macrophages, Keratinocytes, Endothelial Cells, Lymphocytes, Fibroblasts, Osteoblasts, Basophils, Mast Cells

  • Activates fibroblast differentiation. Induces collagen and proteoglycan synthesis for healthy cell production and repair of damaged tissues.

Collagen Stimulating Growth Factor

  • Stimulates granulocyte and macrophage proliferation for the growth of healthy tissue and blood cells.

Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF)

  • Keratinocyte migration, differentiation, and proliferations may optimize conditions for healing and the generation of new skin

HOW IS PRP PERFORMED?

Step One - Consultation: Consult with an Injection Specialist to consult on your medical history, goals, assess the area you would like treated, and answer any questions you have.

Step Two - Blood Draw & Injection:  Injection can happen the same day as the consultation or you may book a follow-up injection visit. Our injector specialist will conduct a facial and skin analysis to determine injection areas based on your goals and anatomy. To obtain the plasma, our practitioner draws an amount of blood similar to what is required for a basic lab test. The practitioner places the blood into a centrifuge and spins the blood at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood. The plasma is now ready to be injected (via micro-needling or hair-like needle) to treatment area.

Step Three - Recovery & Results: There is no down time, but the injection site may be a bit red with some swelling/bruising which will subside in a few days. It can take up to 7 days to fully take effect. Some patients only require a single treatment once a year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with more significant skin-care concerns, such as acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.

FAQ - PRP Microneedling

Q: How long does one microneedling with a PRP treatment take?
A: Microneedling with PRP treatment is quick, effective treatment that only requires 60 minutes per session.

Q: Is there anything I should do before booking a microneedling with PRP appointment?
A: We recommend that we first start with a free consultation to make sure you are a candidate for microneedling and PRP treatment.

Q: Does microneedling with PRP hurt?
A: First you get your blood drawn, just a little prick in the arm. For the microneedling part, because of the quick pulses per second, you will feel only minimal discomfort from our microneedling treatment. And applying a topical anesthetic makes it more comfortable.

Q: What kinds of results should I expect after microneedling with PRP?

A:
Day 1 to 2: Superficial reddening of the skin and mild swelling subsides.
Day 2 to 7: Some exfoliation and dryness.
After 1 Week: Improvement of skin texture and tone begins.

After 3 Weeks: Improvement in pigmentation becomes noticeable.
After 6 Weeks: Improvement in fine lines, wrinkles and scars begin.

Q: How often will I need microneedling with PRP to maintain its effects?
A: While results may vary from person to person, we recommend a course of 3 treatments (maximum 6 depending on your situation) that are spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

Q: Can I wear makeup after a microneedling treatment?

A: We suggest clients to use mineral makeup, and only 24 hours after their microneedling treatment.
